MKS PAMP CEO Shares Insights at the Asian Financial Forum Panel

MKS PAMP is pleased to share that our CEO James Emmett recently participated in a high-level panel discussion at the Asian Financial Forum (AFF) in Hong Kong, one of the region’s most influential platforms for global financial dialogue.

The panel, titled “Global Spectrum – Gold Exchange,” focused on Hong Kong’s rapidly evolving role in the international gold market and the broader implications for global precious metals trading. Moderated by Hong Kong legislator Robert Lee, the session brought together leading industry voices, including David Tait, CEO of the World Gold Council; Cheuk Wong, Head of Macro Trading Asia at HSBC Markets and Securities Services; and Zhu Jing, General Manager of Global Markets at Bank of China (Hong Kong).

Taking place amid gold prices exceeding USD 5,100 per ounce, the discussion highlighted a pivotal moment for the gold market. Panelists examined key developments shaping the sector, including market connectivity, infrastructure, and the impact of enhanced cooperation between mainland China and Hong Kong, reinforced by a landmark announcement made just one day prior to the session.

On 26 January 2026, Hong Kong’s Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau (FSTB) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Shanghai Gold Exchange (SGE) aimed at strengthening cross-border collaboration. The agreement seeks to support the development of a more integrated gold trading ecosystem, including the establishment of a cross-border clearing platform.

James Emmett’s participation underscores MKS PAMP’s ongoing commitment to thought leadership, global market engagement, and contributing to conversations that shape the future of the precious metals industry.
